Pawan Kalyan, the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the Janasena Party, has responded strongly to Bilawal Bhutto Zardari‘s recent statement that “blood will flow” if India suspends the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT). Bhutto’s remark came after India’s decision to suspend the treaty following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack in Kashmir.
Kalyan’s Firm Response
In his response, Kalyan reminded Pakistan of its past defeats and said:
“Pakistan should be reminded how they lost the last three wars. We should show them visuals of how their 70,000 soldiers were treated. If they try anything again, every Indian will go to Pakistan. If the need arises, we will spill our blood for the nation.”
Kalyan made it clear that India will not tolerate any threats or aggression and that the nation’s unity and security will always come first.
Criticism of Congress Party
In addition to responding to Bhutto, Kalyan also criticized the Congress Party for allegedly siding with Pakistan after the Pahalgam attack, in which 26 civilians lost their lives. Kalyan condemned Congress leaders for supporting Pakistan in the wake of such a brutal attack, calling it unacceptable. He even suggested that those who continue to support Pakistan should consider leaving India, stating:
“Supporting Pakistan while living in India is not acceptable.”
Kalyan further emphasized that Kashmir belongs to India and that using terrorism for political gain was shameful.
What Led to the Tension?
The tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after the Pahalgam terror attack, which killed 26 people, mostly tourists. In response, India downgraded diplomatic ties with Pakistan and suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, which allows Pakistan to use water from rivers that flow through India.
Pawan Kalyan’s Call for Unity Against Terrorism
Kalyan also spoke about the need for national unity in the face of terrorism. He stressed that strong action must be taken against those who promote anti-India sentiments and violence. He said:
“The nation must unite to tackle terrorism and safeguard our sovereignty. We cannot allow anyone to politicize terrorism for their personal gains.”
