New Delhi – After the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that killed 26 people, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the Indian Army full freedom to decide how, when, and where to respond.
In a key meeting with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, and Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan, the Prime Minister said he has complete faith in the armed forces. He also stated that India is committed to giving a strong response to terrorism.
Shortly after the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah and RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat arrived at PM Modi’s residence, showing the seriousness of the situation.
Terror Group Behind Attack Linked to Pakistan
The terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba, using the name The Resistance Front, has claimed responsibility for the attack. Intelligence reports and evidence suggest Pakistan’s involvement, and several countries like the US, Russia, China, Japan, and others have been informed.
This is the worst attack since Pulwama in 2019, after which India had conducted airstrikes in Balakot, Pakistan.
India Responds With Strong Diplomatic Action
India has taken the following steps in response:
- Cancelled visas for most Pakistani nationals
- Suspended the Indus Waters Treaty, cutting off water supplies
- Sent back nearly 1,000 Pakistani citizens
- Stopped issuing medical visas to Pakistanis
Pakistan reacted by cancelling Indian visas and putting agreements like the Simla Accord on hold.
PM Modi’s Strong Message
Speaking after the attack, PM Modi said:
“The time has come to destroy the last remaining terror hubs. The strength of 140 crore Indians will crush terrorism.”
He warned that India will not stay silent, and every person behind the attack will be punished.
