Indian Air Force Group Captain honoured with grand parade; Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak and CMS students lead celebrations
Lucknow, August 25, 2025 – Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, who recently returned from his space mission, received a rousing welcome in his hometown Lucknow on Monday. Thousands of admirers, including children, gathered to celebrate his homecoming.
The Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak was present at the airport to receive Mr. Shukla, calling the moment a proud day for both Lucknow and India.
Grand Parade in Honour of Shubhanshu Shukla
The City Montessori School (CMS), Lucknow, alma mater of Group Captain Shukla, organised a grand victory parade.
The car parade began from Lucknow airport and proceeded through Gomti Nagar Vistar Campus to G-20 Chowk, where large crowds of citizens gathered to cheer the national hero.
CMS students showered flowers and chanted patriotic slogans as part of the celebrations.

Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak praised Shukla’s achievement, saying:
“Today is a big day for Lucknow. The son of Bharat, the son of Lucknow, set foot in Lucknow. Ever since he returned to earth from space, the people of Lucknow were eagerly waiting for his arrival. Today, that moment is finally here. We welcome Shubhanshu Shukla with warmth and love.”
In an earlier interview, Shubhanshu Shukla reflected on his journey, stating: “I had a shy personality, but the Air Force transformed me.”
